The Journey Within

200-Hour Yoga Teacher Training in Hatha, Breathwork & Yin

Anatomy • Philosophy • Intelligent Teaching & Sequencing
Athens, GA | Next Training Dates TBA

More Than Just a Certification

This Yoga Teacher Training is a deep and unique immersion into the heart of yoga practice. Designed for both people looking to become yoga teachers and experienced vinyasa or Pilates instructors, this program offers a comprehensive foundation rooted in Alignment-based Hatha, Breathwork, and Yin Yoga.

We weave together philosophy, anatomy, and biomechanics in a way that is practical, embodied, and immediately applicable. Whether you are using this training to start your teaching journey or expanding beyond your current teaching skills, this summer intensive is designed to support meaningful growth.

Program Focus

Alignment-Based Hatha Yoga

We explore classical postures through a modern, functional lens. You’ll learn how to break down postures safely, teach confidently to mixed-level rooms, and understand common compensations. This is about building strength, stability, and awareness through structure.

Breathwork & The Nervous System Regulation

Breath is the bridge between the physical and subtle body. We introduce foundational pranayama and contemporary breath practices that support stress resilience, focus, and nervous system regulation.

Yin Yoga & The Subtle Body

Yin invites longer holds and deeper listening. You will explore functional yin principles, fascia, meridians, and how to safely guide students through sensation and stillness.

Applied Anatomy & Biomechanics

Led by a registered nurse, we focus on functional anatomy—understanding how bodies move and why they move differently. You’ll dive into muscle function, common movement patterns and compensations, and how to teach safely to diverse bodies and abilities

Philosophy: The Yoga Sutras & The Eight-Limbed Path

Study the Yoga Sutras and the Eight-Limbed Path as a practical framework for modern life, taught through a trauma-informed lens. You’ll discover how yoga philosophy is something to apply, not memorize—supporting both teaching and life off the mat.

Inclusivity & Liberation in Practice

We center inclusivity and liberation as core values, examining how power, identity, and ethical teaching create spaces where all students feel seen, supported, and empowered. You will dive into how yoga can support the liberation of all people—on and off the mat.

What Makes This Different

This training emphasizes strong alignment, intelligent structure, and depth of experience.

Rather than prioritizing speed or choreography, we focus on understanding how the body moves, how breath shapes the nervous system, and how yoga functions as a holistic practice.

You’ll gain:

  • Clear alignment principles that translate across all styles
  • A deeper relationship to breath and nervous system regulation
  • Confidence holding space for stillness, sensation, and inquiry
  • Trauma-informed tools to teach with intention, clarity, and adaptability

This is a rich, immersive approach to yoga education—designed to support longevity, confidence, and intelligent teaching. This immersive curriculum and delivery format are something you cannot find anywhere else.

Ready to Teach Yoga? Your Journey Starts Here!

Starting your teaching journey is a transformative step. While many 200-hour programs focus on memorizing fast-paced sequences, this training prioritizes the roots of the practice. We build your education from the ground up, ensuring you graduate not just with a certificate, but with the actual competence to lead.

This program will help you:

• Master the Fundamentals: Learn the mechanics of movement and anatomy so you can teach safely from day one.

• Find Your Voice: Extensive practice teaching ensures you leave ready to lead a class, not just recite a script.

• Understand the Whole Practice: Go beyond the basics to understand the history, philosophy, and breathwork that make yoga powerful.

• Build Unshakeable Confidence: Gain the tools to walk into any room and hold space for students of all levels.

Trained in Vinyasa Yoga or Pilates? This Training Is For You Too!

Many yoga teachers complete their first 200-hour training in a vinyasa-heavy format and later realize there are gaps. This training is intentionally designed to complement and expand vinyasa-based education.

If you’re already certified, this training will help you:

  • Refine alignment, precision, and intelligent cueing
  • Understand why poses work—not just how to sequence them
  • Gain confidence teaching students who need structure and support
  • Deepen your relationship to breath, stillness, and subtle body practices
  • Teach with greater authority, safety, and versatility
  • Add three unique styles to your teaching repertoire

Many experienced teachers describe this work as the missing layer—the training that helps everything else finally click.

Training Leads

Nick Combs is the founder of M3Yoga and Director of our Teacher Training program. Nick draws much of his inspiration in moving the body from his almost 18 years as a nurse, where he started his career at Johns Hopkins hospital training with some of the top medical professionals in the world. As a trainer, Nick focuses on anatomy and biomechanics and how they relate to modern yoga practices. He believes yoga trainings should ultimately produce great yoga teachers who intelligently know how to move people’s bodies and understand where this practice has come from.

Kate McKenzie, our co-director of teacher training, originally came to yoga in college in efforts to help reconnect to her body after battling disordered eating. With pranayama and asana, yoga provided a space for her to discover wholeness and appreciation for her body. As a trainer, Kate encourages trainees to dive deeper into the path of yoga. She meets trainees where they are, challenges them to explore their own unique strengths, and guides them to find their own unique voices as beginner teachers.

Frequently Asked Questions

You will be certified in Hatha Yoga, Breathwork, and Yin Yoga. You also will leave training with a strong understanding of anatomy, philosophy, inclusivity, and other essential teaching skills.

Yes. This program fulfills all requirements for a Yoga Alliance–eligible 200-hour certification.

At M3, education is rooted in integrity, accessibility, and community.

Our trainings are known for being:

  • Thoughtful and well-structured
  • Grounded in real-world teaching experience
  • Inclusive, trauma-aware, and evidence-informed
  • Focused on creating confident, capable teachers

M3-trained teachers are highly sought out and considered experts in their fields from day one. This training reflects our belief that yoga education should be deep, intentionally practical, and human.

This training specifically can act as either a foundational teaching model for new teachers or a supplemental experience adding Hatha, Yin and Breathwork skillsets to current yoga and Pilates teachers or certified individuals.

Not at all! The majority of our trainees have no teaching background and use our trainings to kickstart their teaching journeys and deepen their knowledge of yoga.

We do recommend having a consistent yoga practice, but you do not need to be a teacher to attend this training.

Many teachers graduate from standard vinyasa-heavy training feeling that, while they can lead a flow, they lack the tools to offer deep structural support and anatomical precision. This training was created to also fill those specific voids, helping you evolve from a certified instructor into a true educator.

This training also invites you to slow down and master the subtle art of breath and stillness, adding three distinct styles to your professional toolkit. This means you will gain the versatility to teach students who require specific support and structure, ensuring your classes are accessible and marketable for a wider range of students. Teachers often refer to this work as the “missing layer”—the transformative experience that connects the dots and makes everything else in their teaching journey finally make sense.

Since this is an intensive, full attendance is required for certification. Make up work may be provided for up to 1 day missed. All Zoom sessions are live. Recordings and make-up options will be provided if needed.

No! There is no requirement to practice at the M3Yoga studio before, during or after your training, but our trainees are expected to have a regular practice during the training (It can be at your home studio or even at home!).

Practicing regularly during your training will help deepen your experience and prompt questions for you to ask during training days.

Trainees will receive a free unlimited membership during June and July and a discounted membership for as long as they practice at the studio after graduation. Trainees also receive unlimited access to M3online during the training.

Our Lead Trainers will reach out to you personally to learn more about you, your practice, your goals, and what drew you to training. They’ll also set you up with a payment plan if you want one and tell you what to expect moving forward.

This personalized approach from the start really helps make your experience your own and allows you to feel supported from the moment you commit.
