How long have you lived in Athens? A lifetime
What’s your passion? My family, close friends, and people with a passion! Also, yoga and music have made my life infinitely better, so I’ve become pretty passionate about that!
Favorite book? Anything David Sedaris
Favorite movie? Polar Express (all year round)
Favorite restaurant? My favorite dish is poutine at The World Famous. I can’t really choose a favorite restaurant as we are hashtag blessed with so many good ones here in Athens.
Favorite place you’ve been? Alaska (so far)
When did you start practicing yoga and why?
My first yoga class was in 2000, but I didn’t really dig in to yoga until 2016 when I made a commitment to myself to take care of my body. Little did I know that it would turn into a commitment to take care of the WHOLE body (mind, body, and soul) which I had neglected for so long.
What’s your favorite yoga style?
I am living in that question. The more I learn about yoga, the harder that is to answer because there is so much more for me to love than I realized.
What inspired you to teach?
I graduated YTT in March of 2019. As I mentioned before, yoga turned into a commitment to take care of my mind, body, and soul. I spent many years in a toxic relationship, losing who I was at the core. Yoga transformed my life, and allowed me to find me again … and LOVE me again. I want people to be able to experience who they really are and feel strong and worthy of the abundance of the universe. I want others to experience how transformative and life enhancing yoga can be. In a shell, that’s what inspired me to teach.
What’s your advice to someone who is new to yoga?
Show up! That’s the first step, and it’s the hardest! Yoga is for every BODY, and everybody has to start somewhere.
What is your favorite pose?
This also changes the more I learn. I’m currently really in to transitions and anything upside down. Being upside down makes me feel strong and balanced.
What’s your favorite class at M3?
Rocket, all the way! 🚀
What do you enjoy most about M3?
I absolutely love the M3 community! I’m in awe of the diverse, uplifting, welcoming, and inclusive community that M3 has fostered.
