Kelly Rice

Biography:

Kelly Rice came to yoga looking to destress from daily life, unable to touch her toes. What she walked away with that first day was a pull to come back again and again. The benefits of yoga brought confidence, clarity and a spark to life. She immediately knew she wanted to share what yoga had to offer with others. Kelly completed her 200hr Yoga Alliance teacher training in 2015. She has been teaching ever since. Kelly has attended a teacher intensive workshop with Noah Maze, as well as workshops with Tias Little, Patrick Beach and Carling Nicole. In her classes she likes to combine creative sequencing, breath work and a dose of inspiration. She hopes you leave her class with a little sweat, stronger, a lighter heart and more balance.

How long have you lived in Athens? About 7 years

What’s your passion? My biggest passions are yoga, animals, and music. I enjoy relaxing and learning new songs on the guitar.

Favorite book? The Glass Castle by Jeannette Walls

When did you start practicing yoga and why?
I started yoga for stress relief and to improve my quality of life. I have been teaching for almost 3 years, and practicing more than six years. When I first started, I would go to classes on and off until I finally got really into it.

What’s your favorite Yoga style?
I like all types, but my absolute favorite is a powerful Rocket yoga class.

How long have you taught yoga? What inspired you to teach?
I have been teaching for about 3 years. The idea to teach came as I started getting deeper into my practice, seeing the benefits and wanting to share that with others; I realized that yoga had improved my life a lot and I wanted to give back to other people.

What’s your advice to someone who is new to yoga?
I think the best advice I can give is to come with an open mind and know that any part of the pose is THE pose. You’re here to feel and connect with your breath and body, letting the world fall away.

What is your favorite pose?
King dancer pose and low lunge.

What’s your favorite class to teach at M3? Favorite to take?
I like to teach Power Women and Rocket yoga. I love to take Rocket classes taught by Nick.

What do you enjoy most about M3?
I love the community atmosphere and yoga tribe. I love the space and love getting to know our students. I feel inspired and very welcomed teaching here.
