Victoria King

Victoria King stepped into her first yoga class in 2009. What drew her to yoga was the internal healing powers, and the possibility for yoga to be a way to cope with stress, anxiety, and depression. At the time, she was unaware of all the potential that yoga could truly hold. Over the years she has become a firm believer that yoga is for everybodyin some way, shape, or form. Since her first yoga class, yoga has continually been there for her through all of life’s highs and lows, and has always served as a gentle reminder that life is exactly as it should be in that moment.

Victoria completed her 200 hour YTT in 2019 at M3 Yoga. Her goal as a teacher is to help bring the peace of mind, inner clarity, and strength building that yoga has brought to her to her students. Her classes focus on the mind-body connection, building strength from the inside out, and learning to take the lessons learned on the mat out into daily life.

Favorite place you’ve been? Dingle, Ireland

When did you start practicing yoga and why?
I began practicing in 2009 at a time when I was facing many life challenges and was seeking a way to help with anxiety and depression. Over the years, yoga has become like a best friend, something that is always there for me.

What’s your favorite yoga style?
I have enjoyed so many different styles of yoga, most frequently I am drawn to vinyasa flows, but I have recently been enjoying hatha style classes.

How long have you taught yoga? What inspired you to teach?
I became certified to teach in September 2019, so I am newer to teaching yoga. What inspired me to teach yoga was wanting to have the potential to show others the amazing gifts yoga can offer. If I can give to others just an ounce of what yoga has given to me, that would be incredibly meaningful to me.

What’s your advice to someone who is new to yoga?
Yoga is a journey, don’t try to force or control that journey. Just be open to all the experiences that yoga has to offer, I am continually amazed at all that yoga still gives me.

What is your favorite pose?
Ardha Chandrasana, half moon pose.

What’s your favorite class to teach at M3? Favorite to take?
Can I say all of them?? I do love them all but a nice sweaty Power Flow or anything being taught by Sarah are my go-tos.

What do you enjoy most about M3?
I came to M3 for the wide variety of classes offered. I have stayed because it’s a home away from home to me now. I admire so many of the teachers and I love the sense of community that I feel when I walk into a class, M3 is extraordinarily special.
