Atlanta Rocket Yoga Immersion

September 13-15, 2024 at M3 Yoga & Hot Pilates

In this 20-hour Weekend Immersion with “Rocket Girl” Amber Jean, you will do an in-depth study of the Rocket System as designed by Larry Schulz. In this training, you will practice Rocket 1, 2, and 3, learn the philosophy behind the Rocket system, cross train for handstand and forearm stand, study advanced arm balance and headstand transitions, and practice hands-on-assists.

You will leave this immersion ready to teach Bottle Rocket 1, a shortened version of the Rocket 1 sequence.

We are excited to have Amber Jean lead this training because she has over two decades of experience with The Rocket. She was one of the first Rocket instructors in this country after graduating from Larry Schultz’s teacher training in 2000. She then assisted his trainings for 10 years, after which he empowered her to lead her own trainings through her school, Yoga Ah, in Cincinnati. Amber is a disciplined and dedicated student of yoga and remains true to the original vision Larry Schulz had for Rocket Yoga.

Rocket Yoga is a fun approach to Ashtanga and Vinyasa yoga. It offers different routines for every day of the week so you can get the most out of your yoga practice.

Rocket Yoga consists of three different routines; Rocket I, Rocket II and Rocket III. It has a total of 140 poses (taken from the Primary, Intermediate, 3rd and 4th Series of Ashtanga yoga) and is designed to give students a weekly practice schedule to follow. The routines are sequenced around the joints of the body and provide more strengthening moves and deeper flexibility poses to give students the ability to practice inversions and more advanced poses.

The Rocket also provides modifications to the poses, and thus, opens the practice up to many different levels of practitioners.

This is perfect for anyone wanting to explore a different style of yoga or to deepen their understanding of Vinyasa and Ashtanga. It’s great for students who want to know more about arm balances and inversions as well as sequencing of the Rocket system.

Anyone who wants to deepen their practice and learn more about the Rocket practice from a seasoned instructor is welcome to attend and will be able to enjoy the full benefits of this weekend. This will be especially great for certified yoga teachers, fitness instructors, or individuals currently enrolled in yoga teacher training.

In this 20-hour immersion, we will do an in-depth study of the Rocket System as designed by Larry Schulz. We will practice Rocket 1, 2, and 3, learn the philosophy behind the Rocket system, cross train for handstand and forearm stand, study advanced arm balance and headstand transitions, and practice hands-on-assists.

This immersion gives an excellent understanding of sequencing and alignment. It’ll help you improve your practice and confidence to assist others. Whether you’re a teacher os student, you will come out stronger with a better understanding of Rocket, practicing and teaching..

You will leave this training ready to teach Bottle Rocket 1, a shortened version of the Rocket 1 sequence, as well.

What Past Attendees Say

“I wanted to express my gratitude toward the Rocket training you provided me. What I admire the most is your philosophy and history of Larry’s Legacy. I don’t know that other Rocket training expresses his love for Rocket and Ashtanga as well as you do [Amber Jean]. To many, Rocket is just sequences of poses. I think understanding Larry’s depth and intention is really necessary in this day and age. You really exude Larry’s spirit; and I try to reflect that in my teaching. I have several yogis who have traveled abroad looking for Rocket studios as they go. Apparently I’ve spoiled them with my [your] Rocket because the energy and presence of Larry is not there. His easy going attitude and love for Rocket needs to always be present. And Ashtanga’s emphasis on breath, bandhas, and drishti is also lacking. Thank you for teaching me what I feel is the Rocket Way.” – Andy H.

“I have finally found the yoga style I was searching for, that totally fits me. It is fun and challenging at the same time. I love the way Amber teaches the rocket, it’s like she is the rocket her self, she is also playful and kind, the times we were together at the training felt great and cozy, it was a good vibe!  When I heard she did a training again I knew I really wanted to join again!! Amber also gives tips and tricks to everyone, even though it’s virtual I still felt like she saw me and each of everyone of us! With love,” – Lindsay

“I had the opportunity to participate in Amber’s Rocket Training. It was a wonderful opportunity to further my practice and become a better instructor during a very unique time. It was a wonderful experience to learn about Larry Schultz and the philosophy behind the Rocket, and to learn and practice alongside teachers from so many different places. The training gave me the opportunity to dive deeper into the materials on my own, in addition to going over them during our sessions and to find comfort in practicing in a familiar space. I can recommend training with Amber enough! Thank you for sharing the Rocket with us!” – Molly B.
