When did you start practicing yoga and why?
I was introduced to meditation as a young girl when my dad taught me how to meditate to cope with anxiety. As a teenager, I discovered yoga through my mom’s fitness DVDs and fell in love. It wasn’t until I experienced trauma that I realized how life-changing yoga and meditation can be, and how much better I felt by maintaining a daily practice.

What’s your favorite yoga style?
Personally, I love vinyasa yoga. My favorite time of day is when I roll out my mat in my living room with a playlist that I made and get to spend that hour moving my body. I was also introduced to Kundalini Yoga when I lived in California and I love many aspects of that style of yoga, especially the mantra meditations.

What inspired you to teach?
I was inspired to teach by my personal experiences with yoga and meditation. After experiencing loss as a teenager, I was a complete mess emotionally. It took me a long time to pick up the pieces of myself, and yoga was instrumental in my self-transformation. Yoga showed me how to love myself, faults and all. As a yoga teacher, I want to share this powerful practice with others in the hopes that it will positively impact my students’ lives as it has mine.

What’s your advice to someone who is new to yoga?
Give yourself grace. Yoga is a practice and you are not supposed to be “good” at it. No one is “good” at yoga. It is about you and your relationship with yourself. It is all about self-love. Ask questions and be open with yourself. Love yourself where you are at and don’t give up.

What is your favorite pose?
I love wild thing, Camatkarasana. It feels so good flipping over from three-legged dog into this pose. I also think it is really fun and unexpected.

What’s your favorite class at M3?
My favorite class to teach is Flow. I love the creativity of vinyasa classes and weaving themes into my teaching. My favorite to take is Power360.

What do you enjoy most about M3?
I love the community! I have made so many amazing friends and created this space where I can just be myself, no matter where I am emotionally that day.
